    Could it not be that when playing as a white character a white person expresses a sort of in-bred political correctness which hindered their ability to attack black characters due to racial backlash (you only shot him cause he's black). Therefore it could simply be that playing as black hero opens the player to be free of racial tension and playing as a white character kicks in the "race-card minefield" instinct.

    Unfortunately you can't pin this result to any logical conclusion because the history is so subjective, unless you can find a set of twins with one black and the other born white..

    Correlation does not necessarily imply causation. Especially not with such a small number of participants.
