Default Need help with building a gaming rig

Not sure if this is the right place to post this, but I need help with building a PC Gaming rig, I have a rig setup I put together myself I just want to know if it will last me at least 4 years running games at 1080p on max settings or high settings at least, was always a console gamer but PC guys tell me the graphics on a PC is better. With that i also want to know get this PC rig or a PS4?

    The Rig

My budget for everything including screen, mouse, keyboard and speakers is about R21 000, if I can get a set up that's about the same or a good gaming rig for less that will obviously be cool to, help me out guys. Sorry for the very long post

I also read somewhere it's a better idea to wait till like August to build a new PC with the new 800 series coming out and the new Intel chips coming out, is there any truth to that or can i build now and it will still be "future proof" your guys thoughts on that will be great to.

hmm not much of a response. I'll have a crack at it & hopefully liven up the thread a bit.

Replace i7 with i5. Gaming perf difference isn't all that big (except BF...it seems to have an effect there)

1600 RAM is old tech. Mem speed doesn't make a huge diff but for context the board is rated DDR3 3050+.

Lose the 500GB hdd and replace it with a SSD.

Cut corners somewhere if you must, but make sure you get an SSD for OS at all costs. Forget read speeds...raw size matters. I've got a 128gb and regret not getting a 256 one. With the current shtty PC component prices 256 is admittedly a big ask though.

Case and GFX - can't comment. Case price seems a hint steep though unless there is some special reason you want that one.

Don't like the PSU - reluctant to give advice on that front though. I'm sure someone will stop by though and answer.

I don't see any budget for extra fans or CPU cooler. I didn't buy either but round these parts of the internet saying that is considered high treason.

You'll also want budget for a decent set of keyboard, mouse and headphones...cutting corners there is not recommend. Nothing crazy expensive...you're aiming at decent solid gear on that front.

You probably should check out YouTube dude. There are probably people who have already managed to create the latest gaming rig with the latest hardware.

I agree with HavocXphere on most items...

Lose the i7 for an i5 4670k, can be overclocked so thats nice for the future

lose the OS hdd as said above, get an SSD, Samsung 840 EVO seems best bang-for-buck at the moment.

I prefer Seasonic PSU wise or be quiet! but thats just me, no personal experience with that PSU but looks ok.

Case is a really personal thing and you need to give more info in terms of requirements etc before thinking which cases fit the bill, same with mouse/kb/audio.

    Hope you come right
