I don't like it for two reasons:
1. You see posts like this that are designed to make you feel bad: "Darn! We need to postpone our holiday in the Caribbean because the Mercedes I ordered for Majorie is late. I know customizing takes time, but you would think paying cash would get them to meet their deadlines!".
I know that people only post stuff like that to boost their own self-esteem or because they are on the edge of bankruptcy and they are desperately trying to hide the fact. I try to never make materialistic posts on facebook like: "Check out my new car" or "I just bought this for so-and-so" because I was raised not to rub my success (or lack of it) in the face of others. It is mostly family and funny-cat pics from me.
2. Some people make me feel bad even if they don't intend to. These are the ones that visit exotic locations, participate in extreme sport or just seem to have more fun lives than I do.

Twitter, Google+, LinkedIn and Pinterest I don't use. I'm not even sure why I have accounts there while on Instagram I don't even have an account.
LOL -dude, point 1. I would totally unfriend someone on FB if I ever got timeline entries like that. I do post stuff like "Look at my new exhaust" or "check out my new car!", because to me, it's a celebration. I don't ever do it to rub it in my friends noses. That being said, my facebook activity is definitely churning down. I barely ever post anything on it any more, and like you, I use to to stalk...err...see how it's going with friends.
