The South African Community of the Massive online game "World of Tanks" is hosting a South African "Roll Out 2014" gathering in Bloemfontein this August. The event will be partially sponsored by WarGaming, (the developers of World of Tanks) SATW (South African Tank Wolves, a local South African World of Tanks clan on the EU server) and other sponsors.
You ask why? I am the Commander of SATW [South African Tank Wolves) and SATW2 [South African Tank Wolves 2nd Division] (the biggest SA clan on eu server)and love to play World of Tanks with my other South African mates, We are a community of over 150 red blooded South Africans on the EU server playing the online game World of Tanks.
I felt the need to give something back to the community, and largely to the real life South African tankers. We contacted the South African Armour Museum in Bloemfontein to ask how we can help to preserve our proud South African Armored Tank Division History. This museum are the host of various tanks used by the SANDF (South African National Defense Force) off the past and future. The online World of Tanks South African community will "adopt" a real South African tank. Adopt a tank? That means to maintain a part of South African history "tank", Paint it grease it ect. LOL.
Naturally, when the developers of World of Tanks found out about this they jumped to the occasion and provided "gold" the online currency of World of Tanks. But not just that they are sending a official representative of their company to Bloemfontein, South Africa to attend this event. This in itself is an huge accomplishment. World of Tanks is the record holder for: Most Players Online Simultaneously on one MMO Server’ when we had 190,541 players at once on the RU2 server (Russian region). The previous record for ‘Most Players Online Simultaneously on one MMO Server’, which also belonged to World of Tanks, was established on 23rd January 2011 with 91,311 players – less than half of the new record! March 2013 brought another new significant number: the peak number of players online across the Russian World of Tanks game servers exceeded 800,000 players simultaneously.
The event will also be advertise on the EU server of Wolf Of Tanks, (the complications of this is wrecking my mind!!)
I Mooneater are sending a personal invitation to all online gamers on this community to please join us on this event, I am seeing this as an opportunity for SA online gamers to let their voice be heard internationally, who knows what could happen!
If you are interested to be part of the event on witch ever capacity please follow the link below for more info or you can contact me personally.
