Default Will you ever regret the time you spend gaming?

Saw this post on reddit and it got me thinking..

As a gamer I sometimes wonder this if I will ever regret the time I spend playing video games. I sometimes wonder why is it that people have gaming as one of their regrets? But they don't see film or television or reading books as one of their regrets? Why is it that gaming is sometimes a regret where as books, films, and television at times are more respected and you are less likely to regret spending time on those? Why is that? What do you think? Will you regret gaming later on in life?
Do you guys regret it? When I think about my days gaming it's clearly cut.
Single player gaming memories I don't particularly regret whereas gaming online alone for hours on end like a zombie makes me cringe a bit.
That's just like, your opinion, man.

Never! The only thing I regret is the time I waste deciding what to play next.

No I never turned down a social outing for gaming.

What else is there to do really.

What Eugene and z10c said. Gaming is the one thing in my life that I know will always be there for me, lol.

I remember discussing something similar in a thread ages ago and I still feel the same way: I don't see something I enjoy (read: gaming) as something I'd ever regret doing.

My biggest "regret" would be the time wasted that could better be spent doing things I enjoy--whether that's gaming, going for a walk, eating out, watching movies, travelling or what have you.

oh - difficult question. The time could have been used more productively perhaps, but we're all human. Regardless of what you do there is probably a "better" way to spend your time.

Regret - as said above...maybe parts of the MP side...some of the servers are straight up toxic. Then again I had legendary fun jamming lan party MP.

I've also recently acquired a sense of "I'll do whatever the f I want". You watch Egoli, I'll jam Half-life.

A long as you maintain a decent balance in your life then I don't really see any need for regret.

I really regret not spending enough time gaming. I really hope that one day soon I can game a lot more.

I don't regret it. For me it's my escape! I've taken two weeks leave, I plan on sending my little one to school, sit on my arse and game for the entirety of my leave.
