I leveled to about lvl 20 and then just started farming and cooking. I must say I love the crafting in this game. I almost have my full farmers outift from doing the farming quest from the Blue salt traders; I just need the hat still

@diabolus but that is a group open event which happens every 12 hours in ingame time. You are supposed to group up for it :P

Must say the whole crafting / trading aspect makes the entire game very "alive". You see people doing trade runs all over the place and it's not level based (the further you travel the more gold you get for the trade) . There are all these little social opportunities . It's almost the first time where i saw players actually using the public transport (carriages / airships) like you would expect and it not just being a gimmick. Players actually stand at the "bus stops" and wait for it to arrive and climb on and you usually end up talking during the trip.

Heck even the fact that the lion mounts can take 2 players makes for some interesting times. You can hop onto anyone's mount and be "carried" this way.

The whole trade-pack thing is very cool, you are so slow and vulnerable with one on your back, you really feel you need to take the "public transport" whenever it is available or get an escort (protection). I can already see a big market in getting ferried across the sea safely by players, i'm now at the mission with the 2nd farm and i can chose to go across in a little rowboat, with a 90% chance some sea creature killing me and me losing my trade-pack in the middle of the ocean, or i can charter a ship from another player and pay him (something i will be investigating soon, until i get my own ship).

Also how you can help build other players houses opens a whole range of options, i.e. instead of buying crafting stuff on the AH you contract a player directly to just build your house for you (how they get the materials is their problem).

As for that clockwork quest, yes it is marked as "elite" , but it's at most meant for 2-3 people. There are a bunch of problems with this quest, and actually ALL the quests in the game have the same issue:

    1. It's in the open world right in the middle of a normal quest area .
    2. You only get credit if you started the fight or in the actual group. So kill stealing and mob tagging is rampant.
    3. It only spawns like once every 120 minutes .
    4. It is meant for like lvl 15 players, you are only lvl 15 for so long...

I personally think they should've made it a world boss that needs alot more players or allow it to spawn at least every 20 minutes. The quest text actually read "BETWEEN 2am and 2pm" but in fact the mobs only spawn on EXACTLY 2am and 2pm. Otherwise they should have put it in some sort of instance like the Palace Cellar.

It's trivial in the bigger scheme of things, so i am nitpicking i guess, i just don't think it's the best design considering the amount of players. It might even out as time goes on and lowbies lessen.

Yeah the trading and crafting in this game is a blast. I'm saving up for my Clipper atm.

Heres a nice trade calculator if anyone is interested.

Nice, looks like i will do the Arcum Iris-Villanelle run a few more times, probably going to aim for that trade wagon thing where you can carry 2 trade packs. That's like 10g i shot then.

I just need a bigger farm to make all that stuff. I went as far as finding an "unprotected" farm on a cliff side, only way to get to it is to glide from a very specific place and dropping down on the specific ledge in mid-air....lets hope it's still there tonight hehe.

Lol, i wonder how many players /ragequit when they log on to discover their entire farm in the middle of nowhere was raided. I find those red footprints left behind quite amusing. Just when you think the game is bugging out and your plants are dissappearing you spot all these footprints around your missing plants and then you can only /facepalm.

I see there are players that are doing JUST that, they run around on all the cliffs/ridges and places where you'd expect players to try and hide away their unprotected farms and they raid everything . I read that alot of guilds are creating huge plantations in the PvP areas and protecting it the good old fashion way ... players patrolling the area.

What is terrific about that is if people just run that trade runs trade value goes down and another one goes up

At the moment my money making machine is Fruit. I make a lot of gold each day just selling them.

Best place to go if you want to secret farm is sneak into a lvl 50 area and look for a hidden place and plant there. I planted acres of trees in the early days when I was lvl20ish. People rarely check the high level areas for hidden plantations.

Quick one about the justice system, i know about the whole trial thing, 3k points you a pirate etc. But when you are put on trial, is the time you can spend in jail based off your CP or another different thing?
