Has anybody here bought PA? Your thoughts? I used to be great fan of Dungeon Keeper and Theme Hospital, and this seems to be in similar vein. It's on sale on Steam now, so considering grabbing a copy

Never heard of it. $30 (at full price) seems a BIT steep for something that almost seems like just another "xyz Simulator" game thats been knocked out.

But then you notice its made by introversion...and all resistance crumbles......

Lol i like the alpha trailer

EDIT: if you do go for it, I don't see a reason NOT to go all out for the Name in Game package, especially since you get the introversioner with it...and if you haven't played uplink.....shame on you.

Yeah own a copy since its alpha release on steam.
Its a bloody addictive game my friend, best that you grabbed interest now, before there was no guard dogs, or guards with weapons. In a way it has that dungeon keeper feel in the sense of construction. However the dynamic comes in when it concerns your Prisoners, if things are not placed well you create bottle necks for prisoners, where if they got into a brawl, becomes incredibly difficult to stop the fighting.

Its a bloody great game, forces you to forward plan every construction, plan your activities for prisoners, try to keep the prison from becoming a riot zone. But bare in mind that it is so alpha at the moment so bugs are still there.

Always forward plan with doing quick math,I kept making the mistake thinking I had the budget to build something then once the walls are done I don't have enough funds to finish the furniture or cell doors.

Oh and power, once your getting really big, seriously forward plan with power, you place capacitors to increase the amount of electrical capacity the jail can handle, but if it trips once there is a bug where it will drop to 1 capacity as if the capacitors do not work. If you do get into this problem, you have to remove the capacitors and place them again.

The game also keeps getting updated with new features. One of the few early access games that holds true to its original promise. Like Archie says planning will be needed. They did add a little planning tool which is helpful for planning wall and room layouts.

    Good buy friend.
Promise its got more bloody content than Any 30$ game out there that's in Alpha (eg. Rust, dayz) and they don't spend majority of their time re-doing assets, they are more concerned about game features, addons, mods, bugs.

Honestly, I bought it a while ago and it really didn't tickle my fancy. Building is awkward and some functionality is unwieldy - by the time I knew what I was doing, my prison was a write off.

That's all good and well, but you would imagine a Tutorial would avoid that and save me the 2-3 hours I spent on a prison going nowhere. Haven't bothered to try again since.

Agreed it does have those bugs that annoy you, I once spent the 10 000g starting on getting a holding cell only. After about 10 restarts i finally understood alot of what to plan for and what I dont need upfront. However I would recommend revisiting the game as they have spent time looking into the annoying problem of cash flow and contruction.

For instance, Building the entire foundation would sometimes leave the job undone because the player forgot to add the main entrance door.

hope the current build has some sort of intro/tutorial. I had a similiar issue with Don't Starve, but after playing for a while it started to click.
