It's amazing how when you grow up these kids shows seem very strange and inappropriate.

I don't know if Pokemon is regarded as an old show or is it still running (Ash still looks the same over the years).

The original 3 Pokemon... oh and Pikachu:

I have a collection of cartoons etc. LOVE animation.

Contrary to popular belief most cartoons are made for both kids and adults in mind, because the theory behind it is that you'll watch them with your kid. I've re-watched almost all of the animated stuff in this thread and mileage varies, but the old disney stuff is incredible to this day they had so much production value it's stupid. Other gems are things like Conan the Adventurer, SWAT Cats, Pirates of Dark Water, War Planets, Transformers(the original and Beast Wars) there are a bunch of pretty solid old one.

The early 2000s weren't bad either Dexter, Cow and Chicken, I AM WEASEL, Powerpuff Girls, Samurai Jack etc. but I feel in general cartoons went into a creative slump until quite recently.

Now we have Symbionic Titan(one season damn it), Adventure Time, Regular Show, Riders of Berk, Avater: Legend of Korra(the original Avatar was better, but Korra is still a great show especially aesthetically), Gen 4 MLP, the new Thindercats even the Pokemon series is a massive step up, most notably in visuals, from the old shows.

As a complete aside Dinosaurs is still amazing, the costumes and the craftsmanship that must have gone into them is nuts. Apart from that, that show carries almost exclusively adult themes.
