More so ontopic, im with Tank on this one in saying PSN is superior. At least it has a local mirror to download stuff from the PSN network (although i can't seem to get Metal Gear Solid 1 >.< )
Subscription based PSN will brobably allow you beta access to new games and such. Time will tell
As much as I understand that the gaming industry is a business and they need to make money. I feel the gaming industry is really looking for every possible way to milk every last cent out of its user base.
I hope PSN doesn't devolve over time into Xbox Live and its fees with subtle indoctrination.
It makes business sense. They at one time talked about putting up sony pictures movie database on the PSN it could only be cool if you paid say R50 a month and could "rent" 10 movies a month.
People being pessimistic without any clear indication of what is going to happen irritate me..

It all depends on what you get for your money.
I don't mind paying for a great service at all, no matter what console it is for.

Hhmm, no matter whether it is affordable or not, bandwidth costs must come down first or they must put a local PSN server down and supply it for free over local cap via WebAfrica or another ISP...

As long as you can play free on PSN and then perhaps pay for the extras I think that cool. price needs to be right though.
