So I'm up to chapter 3 of The Order 1886 now. Taking my time. I know every review/person has said it but the graphics are really outstanding. It's hard to fully understand that until it's playing on your TV. Even the little NPC's standing in the street talking have facial animation that rivals most AAA games. But anyhow, great graphics do not make a good game. So far in the few hours I've played, I'm struggling to understand what all the reviews are going on about. Yes it's heavily scripted - RAD always made it clear it would be, but I feel like games like these will ultimately become their own genre and I do feel there's a place for them. We've been so spoiled with great open world games lately I think people forget that some of the greatest games were linear ones. It's nowhere near as scripted as the QTE-fests that are Heavy Rain/Beyond (I loved those games though), but I still think anyone that didn't like those games would probably not like this one. Combat, while not groundbreaking, is solid and enjoyable. First encounter with the lycans was exciting.
So yeah, not too far in yet but seems I'm not going to regret keeping my preorder. Loving it so far and interested in seeing where the story goes.
I see there is a 8gb update for Shadow of Mordor.....
^^Does it add content or is it just fix bugs because that is a pretty big update.
Anyone else having issues going into the Store? Mine keeps hanging at the blue "Please wait" screen. So annoying.
