Lemme' break it down~

Gundam, Persona, Dragon Quest, Disgaea and Ys (Pronounced /ˈiːs/) are extremely popular Japanese RPG's or JRPG for short. Aave for Gundam which is a slightly different affair. All of them are to be released in Japan in 2015, I am hoping for a english localization of them all as they are my favourite series of games.

Dragon Quest is famous due to Akira Toriyama doing the character design (He created the Dragon Ball series), It's a lengthy and involved RPG and well worth a play of you ever get a hold of a copy, it initial release was on the Famicom/NES and currently has over 10 games in the series.

Persona or Shin Megami Tensei: Persona is a JRPG series that has been running since the PSX days. It exploded into western culture when Persona 3 P3 was released to the EU and US in 2007/8 almost a year after it's initial Japanese release. It was succeeded by the famous Persona 4 P4, which holds critical acclaim with an almost perfect 100% review rating. Since it's inception the Persona series has spawned a successful anime series, manga and a cult following.

Disgaea is also a popular JRPG from the PS2 days, in true JRPG style is battle system is turn based and it make heavy use of 2D sprite art to give it an authentic classic JRPG and anime feel, even with it's latest release on the PS3 the visual style has been kept the same.

Ys is an Action RPG which has also been around for well over 2 decades, it's action based (the older series was turn based AFAIK) so combat is real time as opposed to other classic JRPG's. It follows a set story path which is played out across multiple games, I honestly am speaking on general knowledge from YS, as I have not played much of the series, I do see it is on steam I may just give it a try.

Gundam is a popular mecha (giant robot) manga and anime series that has been running in Japan since the early 70's. Like the games above it too has been around for quite some time, sadly many of the games are licensed solely in Japan make it a little harder to obtain. Western releases were made notably the "Dynasty Warriors Gundam" series was licensed in the West. Sadly it was not well received and got average to low review score, probably due to people not knowing much about the gundam series. Also DW is not known for it's gripping story and dialogue it's a beat'em up.

Okay back to my studies!~
