Default Steam Reviews - Hours on Record ?

i was just wondering, when you look at the Steam Reviews it has an "hours on record" figure beneath it. Is this for the game only, or for the steam profile as a whole? I saw somebody with over 2000 hours playing Killing Floor. surely this cannot for just this game ?!?!

They might have had the game minimised and not actually played all those hours.

AFAIK it's for the game only. Looking at my own reviews, the hours on record match the time spend in the game. As far as the guy with 2700+ hours for Killing Floor goes, let me say this: People are strange.

    Probably not today.

Some people stick to one game and hardly ever touch anything else. If you do that it's pretty easy to rack up hours like that.

    Exhibit A: Saint_Dee - 2,014 hours in Dota 2

Dat moment when someone has spent more time in a single game than you on your entire collection

    ~1800 hours in two years:

This really puts my 75 hours on Trackmania2 in perspective.

Multiplayer is an entirely different beast.

    So taking Saint_dee's example:
    - A full time job is 40 hours a week
    - 2014 hrs/40 = 50.35 weeks
    - There's 52 weeks in a year
    - Minus the two weeks of Christmas and Easter holiday

That's a full year's worth of work! Saint_dee better should be as good in dota as his job
