THE EVIL WITHIN DELAYED, PRE-ORDER INCENTIVES ANNOUNCED

Fans waiting for the return of survival horror in Bethesda's upcoming The Evil Within will have to hold out a little while longer as today the company announced that the game will miss its original late August release date. The game will now be launching on the Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3 and PC in late October. Here's what Bethesda had to say about the matter:

This morning we revealed that The Evil Within will be available in North America on October 21, in Australia on October 23, and throughout Europe on October 24, 2014. Shinji Mikami and his team at Tango Gameworks have asked for additional time to further balance and refine the game in order to deliver the polished, terrifying pure survival horror experience they set out to create.

In addition to news of the delay, fans learned today about the game's Pre-order incentive which is being entitled the "The Fighting Chance Pack". As the name suggests, The Fighting Chance Pack provides players with a handful of additional items that may help them stave off death for a moment longer.

Sad about the delay but tbh the game looks very dated already, especially if what we've seen so far is the PS4/Xbone versions. I'm not a graphics whore by any means but things like low-resolution textures just seem lazy in today's day and age. At least October is looking good for horror, what with this and Alien: Isolation now releasing that month.
