In a world where 37 percent of the adult population is overweight or obese, in 2013 South Africa had an obesity rate of 42 percent for women and 13.5 percent for men, according to a study released by the Lancet.
"South Africa has the highest overweight and obesity rate in sub-Saharan Africa," the study showed.
