I did not like the scare factor in Doom 3. What I liked about the original games was that they were creepy, but they made you feel like a real badass mowing down dozens of "evil" creatures with some really fun weapons.
In Doom 3 you were just a weak silent protagonist with a peashooter and staple gun, crawling around in the dark waiting for things to jump out at you. Not to mention the fact that I found the graphical fidelity and the aesthetic really disappointing. I was really expecting more from ID.
So is this DOOM 4 or DOOM a remake of DOOM 1 or DOOM 2? Cause the bad guy in the trailer was the last boss from DOOM 1.
I loved Doom 3 a lot. I once got such a fright in game that I pulled my mouse straight out of the PC, and broke my keyboard...
At the moment I tried to register my Doom 4 beta key that I got with my Wolfenstein pre-order, but only America is available as country at the moment.
Well I was still at uni then. Had the lights off, ear phones on, completely immersed in the game. I didn't realize that my roommate came into the room, and when he touched my shoulder, all hell broke lose, for at that same time one of the game's jump scare started. I nearly pooped my pants, but I grabbed the mouse, flung myself away from the PC, in the process kicking the keyboard into a few pieces...it was super funny.
