Hope I'm not turning into a necromancer... unless it's the same type as the one found in diablo 2.

Anywaaays! I'm beginning to be tempted with the idea of using a TV as well. So I popped in wanting to ask what brand and models do yous (put an s to make plural, english 101) recommend?

    My requirements:
    - minimum 1920x1080 (non-interlaced)
    - min 60Hz (really 60hz, not those clear motion which is only 50hz in reality)
    - <8ms response time
    - preferred 32"

Unfortunately, you'd need to order them off Amazon.com (~R4 800 for the 32" all inclusive) but the refresh of them is 60Hz, they look great as a screen and they perform excellently.

I had a look at this:
    http://www.amazon.com/VIZIO-M322i-B1...5679256&sr=1-3
It doesn't say anything about the response time, but dat 120hz!

Can an Amazon employee assist with shipping?

The Vizio screen does ship here and will cost ~R5 100 all inclusive (that's shipping and customs).

The best way to see if a product will ship here would be to add it to your basket and proceed to checkout.

Only in checkout will you see if it'll ship or not, and have the option to place the order - so you need not worry about spending money first

And yes, that 120Hz refresh rate. That's why I recommended it. I spoke to someone in the US who uses one for gaming (console and pc both connected) and he assured me there was no ghosting or input lag on the screen.

Also, if you order the screen through Amazon (seems the only option), you'll have a 1 year warranty with them.

Hmm.. it doesn't say anything about tax on checkout:

Can I assume that the deposit is for the tax?

Correct. The import fees deposit covers your tax and import fees. Seeing as your deposit is R700, let's say it only costs R500 for tax and customs. The remaining R200 will be refunded back to you.

Meh, so this idea is put on hold.
Car's v-belt pulley needs to be replaced costing =/

In the mean time, I had a look at this:
    http://www.amazon.com/Toshiba-32L240...shiba+TV+32%22

The Toshiba is actually better, I don't really need the "smart" functions found in the Vizio.
But Amazon doesn't ship the Toshiba argghhh

Just had a look at the Toshiba now. Nice screen!

It looks like it does ship here for me and the cost is ~R4 500 (shipping will vary).
