Former god of war dev stig asmussen joins respawn entertainment
Stig Asmussen, formerly of Sony Santa Monica where he worked on the God of War trilogy, joined Titanfall developer Respawn Entertainment a few months ago.
Respawn co-founder Vince Zampella told Polygon that Asmussen is working at Respawn as a game director, though he's not involved with Titanfall. There have been multiple reports that Respawn is in the planning stages of a Titanfall sequel, though.
Before joining Respawn, Asmussen was at Sony Santa Monica, where he worked on the God of War trilogy — first as an environment artist on God of War, then as art director on God of War II, and finally as creative director of God of War III. Asmussen was purportedly developing a secret project for Sony Santa Monica — before exiting the company — that may have been canceled following a round of layoffs at the California studio earlier this year.
Zampella said Respawn is "super excited to have him."
