Concerning physics the people that say gt6 physics is the best if they havent played forza 5 yet (i also havent played forza 5 yet) and I Highly doubt that the physics in gt6 is more advanced than those of F5 since Calspan helped in entering and digitising their real world data for the forza 5 engine. Concerning weather and night racing its not like the forza team cant do it, turn 10 has emphasized numerous times solid 60fps framerate over anything else, the moment the weather effects kick in during gt 5 gameplay then the framerate ends up taking a major dip.

i still have all my gt games right up to 4, and i still play it occasionally for nostalgic reasons, gt5 was graphically impressive and still is at certain times but it definately took a step backwards also gt6 have sold less than 3 million copies since release which just shows the downward trend the gt series is experiencing, The gt games have the best fantasy tracks in any racing sim by far but thats the only redeeming feature i can see in the gt series atm.
Very interesting man! I didn't know about the whole Calspan thing, will do some further reading on that sometime. I honestly just mentioned the weather and night racing because I saw people online complaining about the lack thereof in Forza 5. Don't know about framerate issues with weather in GT5 since I don't play these games. Regarding the physics I mentioned being the best ever, I specifically meant in the GT series, not compared to any Forza game. The people I know who play these games (mostly my brother and his petrolhead friends) don't have Xbones (yet) so they obviously haven't played Forza 5 yet to make the comparison. My brother has pretty much got 100% on Forza 3, 4 and Horizon as well as the entire GT series though (he pretty much only plays racing simulators) and he still says Forza 4 wins in the sound department but GT6 has the better cars, tracks and handling/physics. If I was as enthusiastic about cars as them I honestly think I would prefer more different, lower quality models of cars as opposed to fewer, higher quality cars. I know my brother often tests different models of the same car on the same track to compare performance and such. At the end of the day both series have their strengths and weaknesses and they offer good competition for one another. I find both equally boring though.

its not about metacritic scores, its about innovation and innovation with the gran turismo series stopped with GT4, the series is going backwards and its only gt fanboys thats going to deny it.

The only reason on most sites why forza 5 had lower than forza 4 review scores was due to less content (turn 10 didnt want to use 360 car models & tracks) compared to forza 4.
You speak of innovation yet Gt is the game that is innovating, first of all a dynamic weather system plus a dynamic lighting system plus the new vision Gt concept cars which is a really cool idea.Gran Turismo has more premium cars than Forza so the standard cars being included is a option for fans of those cars I do not see a problem in them being there. Also regarding the sound Kaz has publicly said that it is not good enough and that they are working on it.I am interested in what Project Cars brings to the party, maybe at the end of the year both Forza and Gt will have to improve greatly.

It'll still sound like a lawnmower race, I'll bet.

stop being such a fanboy, dynamic weather was first introduced in project gotham 4 in 2007, gt 5 came out in 2010, so an xbox 360 game had that feature 3 years prior

forza has 4 has over 500 cars (all a premium BTW) !

blind fanboyism has infected you, face the facts !

But if an XB360 game could have dynamic weather (first time I spelled that right today ) in 2007 why couldn't an Xbone game have it in 2013/2014? I understand they wanted their 60fps, but to sacrifice things like dynamic weather, more cars and tracks and day/night racing seems a bit silly to me.

Someone else also mentioned in this thread the Polyphony would have had more than enough time to do the sound etc. properly. Does that not also mean that Turn 10 have had more than enough time to do weather and night cycles etc?

PS. I'm not trying to say anything with this comment. I'm really just curios why these features aren't in Forza 5 since it's supposed to be the first real next-gen racing game.

If anyone has been blinded it is you.You where the person to bring up Gt lacking innovation I just stated what I think is innovative.Dynamic weather has been done long before Gt did it but Forza still lacks this basic feature.I admit Gt has flaws, many of them but I am not as you say a blind fanboy.

Keep the personal attacks out of the debate, guys.

The Eye of Sauron is now upon this thread.

    OPINION TIME:

I love and respect both GT and Forza immensely. They are really great racing simulators for each console. And honestly, each console deserves/needs a truly great racing simulator.

My personal preference is with Forza for the following reasons:

    1. It's on Xbox. Shitty reason I know, but I do like the controller much more than that of the PS3, and I feel that the Xbox 360 controller is better, for me personally, in racing games. The trigger buttons and the placements of the thumb controllers are better, and provide better feedback for precise driving

    2. Handling: Since the inclusion of Pirelli's data into the handling model of Forza 4, I think that Forza has better handling dynamics than GT 5. The cars feel much more like you would imagine them to feel like. Variation in grip based on type compound, car and tracks are much more distinct in Forza than Forza

    3. Graphics: To me personally, both games do look really great, but Forza is a bit better looking. Still, comparing the looks of these games are like comparing Natalie Portman and Kiera Knightly.

    4. Sound: Okay this one is a obvious reason

Now, back to the topic at hand. I think that there are so many different racing games on the horizon that Sony has more than enough time to finish and polish everything in GT 7 before they release it. I'm pretty sure there will be enough racing games to keep us going until then
