Voltage question for Roku 3
I'm looking at ordering a Roku 3 from Amazon but I'm not sure about if the power supply will take 240V since it's an American product, and if it'll fit into SA plugs even. I guess I'd probably need some sort of step down transformer and plug adapter.
Has anyone here got a Roku, or have any advice on where to get adapters and transformers?

No step down required.supports 110v/220v/240v. You just need to get one of those universal plugs.

The other option I've found is that there's a UK version that you can get from amazon.co.uk, but then I don't know the uk version's firmware limits you or something.
I went with the US version, so can't really comment on the UK one.
Just hope you have a modem that allows you to change the DNS settings.
My case, i got this device to setup to watch netflix, however I don't have internet.
So took it to my old mans place, which he runs 4 meg from MWEB.
Cut a long story short, mweb is giving away a free modem so he took one. Here's the funny part, Mweb's modem's prevent you from changing any DNS settings (Cause monochoice owns them). Still trying to get funds so i can get him a modem that isn't in monochoices control.
I'm getting this for my folks, but I'm sure I can change the DNS on their router, it wasn't one of those free ones that they restrict, I'll do a test at their place first with my Netflix and Unotelly accounts before I make the order though.
If your dad's router has dodgy MWeb firmware, you should be able to flash it to the proper unrestricted firmware from the manufacturer, and get the latest firmware update in the deal. I have a Billion router at home that used to be locked to IS, but I flashed it, and now it works on any ISP. You should be able to get the latest firmware and instructions off the manufacturer's website.
Note: There is a risk that if you eg lose power in the middle of the update or something, there's a chance you might brick it.
PS: Any idea where I could get one of those plug adapters? I think most of the travel adapters you can get here will be the wrong way round

Yeah I would recommend testing first.
Ill be seen him this weekend so ill have another look at it.
From its highly pixlated image, can kinda identify that, that is the same one we are using.
