    Why not just one-time install a 450 or 500 watt PSU...

    -edit-

    Maybe like my card it only needs 400 watts, but a little extra juice never hurts.

    Evetech generally gives good prices, especially for pre-built systems, more so if you want your system overclocked and don't have the time or inclination to do it yourself. I have used them twice before and have never been disappointed price- or performance-wise.

    That being said, The Joker does give a more personal touch to the buying process and is very willing to help out and make recommendations. The other guys on the forum have only said good things about his service, so I'd consider asking him if I were you.

    Yeah only Evetech will stick a H81 motherboard in there...
    When you spend 12k on a machine you should at least be able to get the latest chip set.

    @OP

    Will drop you a pm a little later.

    Another option. Almost forgot you're in the hardware game.

    Hagan, you were right about the PSU. The card needs 500W so that plus the previous gen MOBO means I'm gonna scrap that configuration. Thanks everyone!

    I figured you'd need something more powerful than only a 400 watt.

    -edit-

    My old GPUs needed at least that.

    Depends on what PSU you use with the card. The R9 270 has a TDP of 150W. In most cases, you'll be using under 180 watts from the GPU alone under benchmarking loads.

    Joker probably gave you some good advice, so look at that before you make your decision. If you have a budget of R10k for just the rig alone and don't want to build it yourself, this build is a decent start. Or you can look at my SBG for an idea of what you want. My build for R9k trashes the Evetech one, but it requires self-assembly. A new version of the guide should be out on Wednesday.
