What'd be the best option for someone living in a rural area like where I live (Loeriesfontein) in the Northern Cape. Some people complain of poor speeds.

    -edit-

Depending on how things go; I'll be opening up an internet café here - so I'm curious as to what'd be the best option.

Well, it would depend on what your exchange(s) support and how well the infrastructure is. You can go to Telkom's Line checker to see what is supported in your immediate area and maybe even input a few random numbers from town to see if it's the same everywhere.

As for whether you would actually get stable speeds, that's something you'll have to find out by asking around or speaking directly to Telkom. After that you'd have to start looking at which ISPs are viable. It's no use getting an ISP account if your town supports only up to 1mb (as an example) or the line attenuation is so bad that you can never get stable latencies.

These are things I will take into consideration.

But - I will only cross that bridge when I get there.
