they did mention they would look out for abuse, and change how things work if required (possibly limiting prepaid accounts was one idea).

I hope that is not the case but it's going to depend on their definition of abuse. Then again to downloads gig upon gig is going to require a fair amount of steam purchases.

Nope, they are completely different.

You can play on Webafrica's servers for free though.

I have it on very good authority that they'll be watching for this kind of "abuse" and shut it down if it gets out of hand. The whole point of this is for Web Africa to give their USERS better value service.

I don't like the sound of this "fair usage" crap though. They must either make it free to download stuff off steam or not. Or at least give a limit to each user rather than arbitrarily deciding when it's to much. Sounds like NeoTel's "fair usage" policy on their uncapped where they cut you off if they feel you've downloaded to much.

Common WA, don't be douches, either it's unlimited free steam downloads or not...and if not what's the limit?

I don't quite agree, they'll have to limit people if they end up with a whole lot of cheapos just raping the server on prepaid local 1gbs. It will end up losing them money if that happens.

Limiting is only a distant maybe at this time anyway, so don't worry about it now.

Are you a full WebAfrica subscriber? If you've only bought a 1GB prepaid then you are actually abusing the system. I am a WA subscriber and I would be livid if my performance went down the toilet because of a 1000 pre paid 1GB accounts abusing the system.
