So... Superman's fist never even reaches you? He punches the air molecules between you and his fist and causes a fusion reaction that blows everything up anyway?
If he managed to punch fast enough the friction from his fist passing through the surrounding air would most likely super heat and melt your face, as well as dislodge your head from your body instantly killing you. Seems like a perfect opportunity to (again) mention the hilarious 1971 essay by Larry Niven entitled "Man of steel, woman of Kleenex" that has also been given the comic treatment. It examines the sticky subject of how Superman may be able to procreate with an earth woman. If you haven't read it yet, JUST DO IT!
