Default Madcatz gamepad and windows 7

    hi all,

so i installed windows 7 yesterday and put up all my progs and drivers etc. everything seemed to be going well until i tried installing my street fighter 4 gamepad ... when i plug it in the lights don't even go on? my wireless xbox360 controller works just fine and worked right after i installed the drivers and plugged it in but the street fighter control pad's light doesn't even go on when i plug it in...

i thought perhaps the controller got damaged so tested it out at a friends place on his windows xp machine and the controller works just fine there.

i've downloaded the madcatz drivers, the xbox360 drivers and nothing is working... does anyone know of a workable solution here?

Have you tried plugging it into different USB ports? The lights should come on, regardless of drivers and O/S.

Also Check your Power settings in Windows 7, If it worked in Xp, it should work in Win7.
Windows 7, has the ability to power down unnecessary hardware, that is not needed at the time.

hi all, thanks for your replies...

Kyubi, i got the SF4 game and gamepad bundle from take2.co.za

i agree that the light should atleast come on ... i've tried putting it into different USB ports but still nothing.

i'll try out the power management suggestion and report back thx

if you've got the extra cash and you enjoy SF4 as much as i do... have a look at the sticks too, they're much better for pulling ultra combos and combo attacks at a moments notice. ;-) ... may be going for one if i can't get my gamepad to work

Most likely is buggy windows 7 drivers. Do you know if other users have the same issue with the device and win 7??

seems their problems are solved once they install the drivers... not the case with me though =/
