    Something like that. But usually Let a friend buy a game 1st. Check it out at his place. if it is good I will buy it.

    MW2 was a fail since they Released the news of no dedicated servers.

    That is one Good Example of a game that lots of ppl also did not buy only because of word by mouth....

    +1 again. Metacritic is my first stop to get an idea of how well a game has been received. I do listen to my friends mind you, but I will always go double check on Metacritic.

    I see how snuck in an insult to the DotA and CS players there Azi They are probably more competitive types, in which case, DotA and CS would have great appeal to them.

    I must be one of those exceptions.
    My choice in games is determined by personal taste, [Or lack thereof and having enjoyed the demo.], price and to a lesser extent by online reviews. [Metacritic is usually helpful]

    Only once in a while do I see a game which interests me being played at my friend's house.

    Multiplayer wise every game I like, my friends hate

    Like Unreal Tournament and Heroes of newerth.
