I had no interest in Colonial Marines as I'm only really a fan of the first Alien, and not the action route everything that followed decided to take, so I am not sure what the lead up to the game was like with hands on previews and what not, but from what I've seen the game looked like crap from the get go. These games have completely different developers and the general impression from people that have had some play time with the game has been mostly positive. I don't think I've ever been disappointed in a preorder - my instincts are usually pretty spot on in judging whether I'm going to enjoy a game or not. Of course, there's a first time for everything, so if it turns out to be awful then that's just too bad, but the game is giving me some seriously good vibes and it really looks like a lot of dedication has gone into making it an authentic Alien experience, so I'm really looking forward to it.
