Final Fantasy director Hajime Tabata said upcoming action RPG Final Fantasy Type-0 HD is being "re-rendered specifically" for PS4 and Xbox One, in an interview with Square Enix Members.

He cited Final Fantasy XV as an influence on the graphic improvements being made to Final Fantasy Type-0 HD.

“We did utilize some of those key learnings from Final Fantasy XV to refine the game,” Tabata said when asked if Final Fantasy Type-0 HD was a sneak peek at Final Fantasy XV.

Tabata also said that Square Enix felt fans would want a "deeper and prolonged experience" on consoles instead of PS Vita.

Announced for Western release at E3, Final Fantasy Type-0 first appeared on PSP in October 2011 in Japan only. The game is a part of the Fabula Nova Crystallis series that includes Final Fantasy XIII and Final Fantasy XV.

No release date has been given for Final Fantasy Type-0.
