    Default Nvidia driver stops responding then recovers in DX10 games

    using a 8800GT 512mb

    When i play any game that uses DX10, the nvidia driver stops responding, the screen goes blank then recovers. it's getting really annoying.

    GPU-Z temps turn up nothing of interest, peaks at 70 degree's under severe load but other than that nothing much else.

    i also cleaned it out.

    any ideas?

    Hi Tank.
    some things to tinker with..
    Make sure you have the latest drivers , sometimes even beta drivers have fixes for your issue.
    Then I have some questions about your rig.
    Has it ever worked perfectly ?
    What is your PSU WATTage ? and how much hardware are you powering with it ?
    Are you seeing any errors in the eventlogs ?
    When last have you installed a clean OS ? Have you reinstalled the game ?
    Do all the games do this or just the one ?
    Perhaps the game needs to get patched ?
    Some ideas im throwing around as we dont have alot of details
    Let us know ?

    I tried uninstalling it again and loaded onlythe driver files this time via Windows and not the Nvidia installer. seems to have fixed it
