Does people still play Elite Dangerous? I wanted to buy the game a while ago, but the steam charts I think or what ever it's called showed poor multiplayer activity.
Multiplayer isn't really very important in this game. As long as you have some friends and you can form a wing it doesn't really matter if there are other "human players" in the galaxy as you will be interacting with AI most of the time. Due to the sheer size of the galaxy the likelihood of you regularly encountering other humans is anyway very low, unless you go into areas where humans tend to congregate.
When an anti-piracy method is affecting the game for people who legitimately bought it and causing other people not to buy the game, there is obviously something wrong with it!
The last official figures were about 1.4 million copies sold. Which isn't bad. And I think daily players was about 10% of that on open play. Which is much better than most games out there can hope to achieve on the same scale.
I often see other players in the current system I am playing in, and there are a couple of systems where you will always see a lot of players. So I think the game is very much alive and kicking. The Frontier forums alone prove it.
Please keep all extremities tucked in...
