It's really good, season one people found to be a bit slow but it was essential to introduce all of the characters and have a good basis of how ghouls work and live and so forth. One quirk I have is heavy censoring, in one episode they refused to show a person full of knives but in the next scene where happy to show her parter be sliced almost in two.

I can't make out how the pulling of the red rubber band causes the lid to snap down... Is there a piece near the lid I can't make out?

I can't make out how the pulling of the red rubber band causes the lid to snap down... Is there a piece near the lid I can't make out?

The thing that the rat( or mouse?) pulls on releases the red rubber band. The lid itself is forced closed by the two yellow rubber bands that are on the sticks going through the bottle.
