Default Final Fantasy 15's Open World Is Gorgeous and Massive

In an hour-long video posted to their YouTube channel, Square Enix revealed what Final Fantasy XV's open-world will look like, and the clip does not disappoint.

The 10-minute-long clip starts with four player characters in a car, driving along a country road, passing what may be the first gas station in Final Fantasy history. Other cars are on the road as well, and they look surprisingly Earthly in design, as opposed to the future-fantasy style that's typified Final Fantasy in recent years.

Eventually, the foursome pulls over and heads out on foot, travelling through a huge valley teeming with wildlife. Eventually their stroll takes them by a lake where towering creatures resembling dinosaurs were seen grazing, as well as a fairly expansive forest. No combat is featured in the video, though many of the creatures throughout the walkthrough appeared to be aggressive, particularly as day cycled to night towards the later parts. The piece ends as the four characters are making their way back to their ride, when some imposing looking aircraft fly slowly past them, landing in the grass up ahead.

It's also very empty, but I will chalk that up to this just being a demonstration build.

It looks really gorgeous and alive. Hopefully we'll be able to play it before the next-gen consoles arrive.

The last final Fantasy i really enjoyed was IX on the ps1, i have FFX13-2 on the 360 and i really dont know what im doing, sure its a pretty game but the battle system is just downright confusing imo.

The characters in this new one looks very FF7 advent children like (outfits and hairstyles)

The series on PS1, FF 7,8,9 were some of the best experiences iv ever had gaming...

I hope they can revive that sort of feeling with FF15, because in my opinion they have lost their way some what...

I agree. I played XIII and XIII-2 but by the third one I was just so bored of it all I just couldn't finish it as much as I wanted to. Also hoping this'll be more in line with the earlier entries, and I hope there are some female characters as it's looking a bit like a sausage fest at this stage
