    Entry: Speedrunners

Have you ever had the desire to put on a pink latex suit, strap a horn to your forehead and run? Or maybe you're pondered nefariously taking over the world while wearing a chicken suit? Well... neither have I, and yet I've found myself doing that for a good amount of hours (17 to be exact )

The basic concept of Speedrunners is quite simple. Run! The aim of this Multiplayer 2D Platformer/Runner is to get far enough ahead of the other 3 players that they disappear off the screen, since everyone sees the same view. Do that 3 times and you are declared the winner - at least for that course. The trick is to learn the course that you are running, know when to jump, and double jump. When to grapple-swing and which path to take. And, of course, make sure you grab the pickups and hit the speed boosts.

The trick is you've got 3 other players who will be trying to outrun you. This is where the pickups create the havoc, and the fun. You could describe Speedrunners as a blend of Sonic the Hedgehog's speedy platforming, keeping your momentum going while going down the quickest path, and of Mario Kart in that you use the pickups to hook, blow up, block, and blast past the other players in order to gain the advantage.

In this Early Access game, you are presented with a variety of courses to run (and a great deal of user made courses on the Steam Workshop) that come in a varying degree of skilled required. Each course presents multiple routes you can take at certain points, with the quickest paths requiring the most skill to navigate. The intensity is high, as any mistake could cost you the race. But to make it even more dramatic and tense, the first person getting left behind triggers an explosion and a shrinking of the screen. Now you have less warning of what is ahead, and you can't fall too behind. Prepare to sweat bullets!

Speedrunners can be summed up in a few short phrases. The platforming is solid. The intensity high. The costumes ridiculous. And the game is "balls to the wall" addictive. I cannot stop playing it... I don't want to stop playing it... I kinda like being the guy in the pink latex outfit with the horn stuck to his forehead...

Sometimes, you just gotta say it with a video:

Here is the latest game to take up my free time, and some where I’m meant to be productive at home. It’s Assassins Creed Rogue.

I've been playing it since release and I’m loving it, it’s a great mix of AC III and AC IV. AC III was a great game by itself, but I never thought it was a complete AC experience IMO. Most of the towns were small and didn’t provide much to explore with. Rogue seems to bring back the charm of AC III frontier but on the open sea and New York river system. Exploring the river map is amazing there are small towns to explore, run and hunt in. So unlike AC IV, when you leave your ship there is actually something productive to do, it makes the map feel more complete. With this comes more options to obtain supplies. There are the settlements to raid similar to the slave farms of freedom cry, supply camps similar to AC III and of course the piracy of IV.

Back on land you have the small towns spaced all over the map to explore and without the transfer loading screen the world feels more unified and immersive. Once on land there are the usual chest to open and shanties to chase, but also hunting challenges (finally the mechanic has meaning) and rescue missions to keep you entertained. Then should you feel the need you can go on a civilian murder spree, the open world has so much more freedom now. Of course the civilian killing isn't free, much like the piracy killing civilians raises a bounty on your head and bounty hunters will be after you.

Once you reach New York there is even more to do. The town is sectionalised like in AC III, you have districts to free which opens more missions and options (Similar to Far cry 3’s camps). Freeing districts raises your revenue stream and opens more properties to be renovated (like brotherhood but taking full advantage of your piracy resources). The economic system is placed into the background allowing you to focus on being an Assassin hunter, no more stupid trading routes and playing accountant.

Overall I think AC Rogue is the game I’ve been waiting a long time for, they've taken a lot of the good from the previous games and combined it into one great game. We have freedom to explore as we wish like in the previous game and we have AC IV’s piracy without feeling trapped on ship like I did in IV. All in all it’s a game that is taking up all my free time in the evening and I don’t feel guilty for being trapped in its world. The only problem I have with the game is that I know it’s coming to PC next year and I know I’m gonna buy it again knowing that I’m gonna have to repeat everything again, but I really don’t care because I’m gonna love being bewitched once again.

    Entry: Call of Duty:Advanced Warfare

Coming out very salty from COD:Ghosts, due to poor optimisation and just bad build, I was pretty sure that the new cod would be exactly the same kind of deal.

Regardless I bought the game, and gave it a whirl (only on multilayer, cause no one really plays campaign xD).

First impressions were: "Wow, this is actually super fun! It isn't lagging, the gameplay is really well done with the exosuits."

Being a mega cod fan, who has played since the release of Call of Duty 4 (which is very often regarded as the last good cod), I have thus far been very impressed with the quality of this Call of Duty. The exosuits provide a nice variation to the game, allowing players to either be super aggressive in gunfights or to just hightail it out of there.

Movement with this new exosuit is rather easy and enjoyable to perfect and most of the guns also play very nicely. Exosuit abilities are also very well balanced and allow a player to get that one up on their enemies.

Who am I kidding though? You can't understand how well built and fun to play this new COD is just by reading my review on it.
It is something you need to experience yourself (with some friends, preferably) and see just how great this game is.

It may even be better than Call of Duty 4's multilayer (I said MAY :P).

You will have to excuse me... I need to go and reach max prestige.
