League of Legends VS DotA 2 VS HoN vs . which does South Africa Prefer?

started playing Dota when it was still new... played it for a while. then moved over to MMO.

friends started playing LOL and forced me to play it... when i was playing SC2 LOL felt so easy.
Dota2 seams better to me then LOL not sure why maybe because i played Dota for a longer time.

But Dota2 is for me

Yes I agree with the high skill cap but that I don't mind km willing to improve myself and become better. I've heard that landing phase is longer and damage output is weaker. Stuns and slows are way to long and that's why coming from lol I find it too broken.

Everything being broken makes it balanced no? I have to agree though somethings seem broken as first but there is counters for everything.

Used to play a lot of league before I started playing Dota 2 with friends. I really got into it around the time the new bloom patch hit last year. At about 1.1k hours in Dota so far.

The problem I had with League was I knew everything there is about the game and the champions like 600 games in. DotA has all of these little weird interactions with one another and little nuances. I learn something new every game and this keeps it from getting stale. League however got pretty stale after a while.

Another thing DotA has over league is options ( less so now that the new season has arrive for league) For League as a carry you usually go the same build with little variances here and there. Dota has a lot more options and builds paths that are all viable.

Don't get me wrong League is a great game but I think Dota is just a little bit better

I only play LoL because I've been playing it a while before Dota 2 came around. Played some Dota 2, and enjoyed it, but it will take too much time to get into the dynamics of the game. So I'm sticking with LoL.

Reason I enjoy league is that the games are between 20 min and 60 min normal and ranked is anywhere from 40min to 1h 30m and more. I know dota 2 according to friends has longer landing phase and game times. That's why I prefer league as I don't want to waste time playing a game where I know we can't come back because of poor farming. It just makes no sense and seems like a waste of other gaming time.

I can see that South Africans predominantly like DotA 2. Please post a Yes if you like DotA 2 because of South African servers over LoL ( even post yes if its a reason you use DotA 2). I want to see if those votes are because of a server. if mainly yes then im going to write to riot about getting a
South African server!

Most of us have given a reason, and the consensus seems to be that:

1. (we feel that) DotA is a better game.
2. (we feel that) The community, while terrible, is slightly less terrible than LoL's.

I don't see a reason not to write them a message anyway if you like the game, but given Riot's reputation, I don't think it will help.

These days I prefer DOTA over HON and LoL. I used to play LoL a lot but it was too simplistic for me. 90% of my game time is in DOTA and the other 10% in HON. HON is like Facebook...I find out what my family has been up to, especially my mother Just kidding.

In all honesty I do revert to HON a few times a week since there is some original heroes that DOTA does not have (Really enjoying playing Nomad these days).

I can honestly not play more than 2 games of HON due to the abuse and generally shitty attitude of the community. I don't get affected by slurs being sent my way that much but it leaves a sour taste in my mouth. Last night I had a game (DOTA - Solo Q) where our team lost but all 10 players were having so much fun that we really didn't care that we lost. It was a great game, we gave our all and had fun.

That's what it's about (*Insert CSI Miami intro - OH YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEH!)

There was a reddit thread about South african servers for league and they said they are going to look into more servers soon so it might be coming. Honestly though it probably won't happen.

If they4e looking into it, and are a Chinese company, I can guarantee they will open more servers to get more players from different countries interested. I must be able to access both Europe West and so7th African servers or I will stay on Europe West
