My issue with that is that they have done a LOT of work to get fibre lines in place to connect exchanges to each other. But the work stopped there. No further roll out is happening atm to get the fibre out further.

My most dreaded words ever are : Sorry that exchange is full.

Just take me out back and shoot me please if I ever have to hear it again.

The other operators aren't much better I'm afraid... Ever dealt with Neotel for business ? I would rather pull my own teeth, thank you very much...

Talking of fiber, I am 280 meters from a fiber connected MSAN, but for all practical purposes, it is way out beyond the moon.

@Java - that is my whole argument. The connectivity is there, but isn't currently planned to be used for anything other than connection between exchanges.

The FTTH trials are working very well but to be blunt, package deals on data is a joke still I, like everyone else, would like fibre (even if it is only 20mbps) but with decent pricing and 200gb of data. I doubt we will see this any time soon though

20mbps would be nice, but I could live with 10mbps, if it had rock solid, dependable international connectivity. That is, gaming always works, streaming never buffers, etc.

I gave up my ADSL line for 4 years, went 3G/LTE, what a pleasure, then the kids grew up, started playing games online, watching Youtube videos, etc.

Became too expensive to continue - applied for an ADSL line - no ports/line available for 2 years. When my continued application was eventually successful. I was given the exact same number I had when I last had a line 6 years previously.
