As mentioned in OP, I'm a huge prog fan. Check out some of the bands I mentioned. James La Brie's solo project is also quite good!

Noted... I saw the original post when this thread was first made, so I forgot that you mentioned Dream Theater

Oh, i forgot to add Symphony X to my like-list. How could I forget them?! Anything from "The Odyssey" is just incredible, with a notable mention to "Paradise Lost". Thrashy Prog FTW!

Edit: And for those who don't mind some Christian themes sprinkled in their metal and don't know Theocracy - check them out! Matt Smith is a brilliant song writer, composer and vocalist. The first Theocracy album was an impressive one-man progressive power metal effort.

Yeah, I love metal with a story!!!!

I do get tired of both Sabbaton and Amon Amarth, then I listen to Maiden for a week. Then I listen to those again. This week I am back to those though

I have Deftones' "My Own Summer" album in my car at the moment as well, really loving listening to this again. Crushing riffs! I saw them live when they were here, and they made me a fan again. I actually got a free ticket from MalicE and we went.

I loved White Pony. I remember the wife and I (still GF back then) making out and... uhhh... "having fun" back then to Knife Party. Kinda morbid, I know, but the music was on shuffle and we just both have fond memories of that song.

    Thanks dude means a lot!

And I love Opeth. First song of theirs I heard was The Grand Conjuration and what a track that is.

If you guys enjoy prog and other instrument-centric music, take a listen to Animals As Leaders. You will not be disappointed.

Time to revive this thread. I've been listening to Orphaned Land quite a bit recently, so thought I'd share one of the better songs on their latest album. Great song, but weird video. Enjoy!

And here is a video from one of the most beautiful ballads I've heard in years (also from the same album):

Another epic, beautifully symphonic song from them (same album still):

...and a final song from them for tonight (from their previous album):

I had to do a separate post for the third video - forum doesn't permit 3 videos in one post.
