More good news. I've seen alot of people buying consoles now when they would never had before due to the price drop.

I will be waiting for April then, to see what gives - MS should be ready with their new console as well.

I'm also waiting for PS3 to be more affordable, I don't want a R4200 bundle, there are too many games that friends will borrow for free. Think I'll buy for under R3,500.00 yeah I'm cheap so what.

Me think R3500 for PS3 is fair considering Blueray player. My problem is with game prices! Why do these companies think people flash their consoles? Why can PC games cost half of what console games are???

The price difference is only really noticable here in SA. In the USA PC games normally cost $50 and console games $60. Very different to our R400 for pc and R700 for console.

As for why pc games are cheaper, it's because it's an 'open platform' there are no license fees involved.

Point taken. Still think its way too expensive! Imagine what next gen console games are gonna cost...R1200? Maybe more?

Remember, there is also the added expense of getting the game right first time as a disc cannot be changed. Even the patches become difficult to apply. So the test, break, rinse, repeat cycle is more costly.

Whereas on PC you just chuck it out there and then follow it up with 3 or 4 patches which can replace the actual game files.
