Thread: How is the Asus Transformer Book T100 compared to standard tablets?

Smile How is the Asus Transformer Book T100 compared to standard tablets?

I am considering buying the Asus Transformer Book T100. It has windows 8.1 on it and wondered if it will be worth the money (since most tablets are Android or IOS). Will I be able to run normal desktop applications on it or will I be limited to apps that are available on the Windows App store? Anyone own one and can recommend it? Pros and cons?

Its a full version of Windows 8.1, so all apps will work. It is still a mobile processor though, so don't expect to be gaming on it.

I bought one for my daughter (needed it for school) and fantastic little machine...but my daughters not too happy cause yes, you are limited to the windows app store, so she has not been able to get a lot of the games she likes (which makes me like the transformer even more)

What model did you get your daughter, exactly? The Transformer Book T100 has the full windows, not RT. RT is the one limited only to the app store, so somewhere you seem to have missed something.

Yeah as Murfle pointed out, as long as it is the full 8.1 then it should be ok. But this is not a work horse, light browsing and general work without a rush should be fine though.

Depending on HDD size, you might be able to use it for some work stuff but remember that the system does use about 20% of the available space by default.
