Default Ubisoft Sales Up 55.8 Percent From Last Year

Ubisoft has reported its third quarter sales came to €809.7 million, or approximately $922.8 million USD. The number represents an increase of nearly 60% over the same period last year.

The figure came in higher than Ubisoft's projection of €730 million made during its first-half 2014-2015 financial results. The number represents an increase in market share, from 9.6% in 2013 to 12.8% in 2014, and was helped along by "a strong performance" from Assassin's Creed Unity and Assassin's Creed Rogue.

Combined sales of the two Assassin's Creed games totalled 10 million units. Far Cry 4 sold 7 million units, while The Crew sold 2 million. Just Dance sold 4 million units, and Ubisoft touted Watch Dogs' sales, which have reached 10 million lifetime units sold-in.

Sold-in is different from sold through numbers, and reflects units sold to retailers rather than units purchased by and in the hands of consumers.

Digital revenues for the company saw a staggering 157% surge, to €138.0 million in Q3. Back-catalog sales also increased for Ubisoft, to €67.1 million.

CEO Yves Guillemot said Ubisoft "achieved a third-quarter performance that was well above target," and the company expects to generate a "record level of free cash flow for 2014-15."

As a result of the sales figures, Ubisoft has adjusted its projections for the year, expecting full-year to reach €1.4 billion, while anticipating sales for Q4 will be down 25% from the same period last year.

It's no surprise really. They've had some stellar releases, stuff that they've hyped to no extent. It's just a pity people didn't realise their pitfalls until release days of said titles.
