I think its a good thing that its not similar to Bethesda games. IMO, the combat in Fallout 3 and Oblivion felt hollow...non-existent - it didn't engage the player enough.
The thing that ****ed me off the most though, was the spellcasting in Oblivion. I started off with this crappy fire spell; worked at levelling up and finally unlocked this supposed beast of a spell (after 80 hours of play). When I cast it, I was expecting all hell to break loose. What do I get, a spell that is powerful, but is graphically the same as the lame fireball I started out with...
Who knows, could've been a glitch? All I know is, Oblivion got the EJECT treatment at that point.
