this is a really clever move from them. they are basically stepping away from the business of selling games, and are basically going o be "outsourcing" the creative energy and drive of millions of young devs out there. fek, if only i were 15 years younger :-P this could be absolutely killer for university students who have tons of free time

They've been in the engine business for many years already.

This is more of an aggressive expansion into indie.

Lols...Fantastic stuff on their part, but its understand, 10% of your game sales, plus their market place content is really good.

Though I don't know if it was a good move, I mean when I paid for it, I sure as hell went out of my way to get that 20$ worth, 6 months paying to make content made a world of difference to me and even push me to make stuff all through the weekends even after part time classes. For someone who get's it free, it might not have the same affect as it did for me.

Interesting move, and clever I think. It'll get way more people using their engine, and give a big boost to the game development industry, and if games prove to be very successful, 5% royalties will probably earn them more money than they would have made on licences.

Ha ha, after thinking, hold on but I paid for the last couple of months now what? got this email:-

If you have paid for a subscription on or after January 30th, you will receive a pro-rated refund for your latest month's payment after March 12th. You'll continue to receive all future updates for free.

And, because you were a paying subscriber, we're also giving you a gift of $30 that you can spend in the Marketplace now or save for a future use.
