Xbox one games with gold titles can now be reserved on xbox 360

Xbox 360 users who have an Xbox Live Gold membership can now start claiming copies of the free Xbox One titles offered with Games With Gold directly through their console.

According to a post on the Major Nelson blog, players can reserve the free games through selecting the Games With Gold section on the Xbox 360 dashboard. Until now, Xbox 360 users could only previously go through the process holding games via the website.

Microsoft also announced today that select Xbox 360 users will be able to participate in the Xbox 360 Preview program that is slated to begin in early March. The Xbox 360 preview program will operate like the Xbox One preview where select users can trial and test system updates before they roll out to the wider user base.

Xbox 360 users are advised to keep an eye out for an Xbox Live message. Those selected can then enrol via the Xbox 360 Preview Registration through the account management section found under the Settings menu. Microsoft will let users know when the Preview is ready through an Xbox Live message.

The upcoming preview will address the most requested fixes from players, such as “improving the ability to troubleshoot common network issues from the 360 and adding a Network Connectivity test including Download and Upload speed tests.”

Ooooh.....this is a welcome development. I think I'll stake my claim on the off chance that I find myself possessed by an XBox One in 2 or 3 years time. [Currently saving up for a new PC]
