Battlefield: Hardline takes up to 43 GB on latest generation systems, the IGN team found when we installed the game on an Xbox One today.

Its install size is up there with last year’s biggest releases of Dragon Age: Inquisition, Grand Theft Auto V, Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare and Wolfenstein: The New Order. The titles range from an install size of 41 GB up to 47 GB, lending to the trend of increasingly growing install files.

The recommended minimum hard drive space for the title on PC is 60 GB, according to the latest specifications. Although the actual install size may be a lot less,its a leap on The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt recommended space of 50GB.

Xbox One owners who subscribe to EA Access can now play 10 hours of Battlefield: Hardline five days ahead of its release. The trial includes full access to the game's multiplayer, the prologue and first chapter of the campaign. Any progress made in the trial will carry over to the full game.

Battlefield: Hardline launches March 17 on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC. Visceral Games recently revealed that both the Xbox One and PS4 versions of Battlefield Hardline will be at 720p and 900p, respectively, at 60 frames per second.

There was a time that I thought 1TB was plenty of space on a PC. Now with music, movies and games, I need 4TB-6TB otherwise I just don't have enough space to store everything.

This will be the 3rd shooting game to be in this bracket of install space. I still struggle to understand why they require such behemoth space. I could understand GTA and DA but FPS titles consuming the same levels of space seems odd (given the linearity of such games )

That 60GB is porbably reserved for future DLCs.
BF4 base game was around 40GB. With all the DLCs, it's now a massive 60GB folder.

The maps are pretty big, and textures are pretty diverse. Well that's what I would assume is the reason. I don't generally get a feeling stuff gets re-used all that much between the different levels.

That's a factor but it still doesn't justify the amount of space in a sub 10 hour experience. Games with far more diverse environments and textures take up far less space.

Although; I do remember that TitanFall was so big primarily because of the audio files. Primarily to do with trying to make the online experience as accessible to all users across the board.

Im not really sure what you mean sub 10 hour experience. Most people who play Battlefield play it longer than 10 hours.

Either way, I don't see why the size matters, space is relatively cheap. Specially if its for performance reasons, I'm all for it. Specially if it's not really affecting the download size, even though download size doesn't really bother me.
