Default First Look at Halo 3: ODST on Xbox One

343 Industries today unveiled the first screenshot of Halo 3: ODST running on Xbox One.

ODST's campaign and Halo 2 multiplayer map Relic are both being added to Halo: The Master Chief Collection in an upcoming update. 343 says it's "finishing things up" on ODST and Relic, and will be ready to announce a release date soon.

ODST will be free for anyone who purchased The Master Chief Collection on or before December 19. At this time, 343 hasn't announced a price for those who have purchased the game after that date.

Check out the slideshow below for your first look at ODST on Xbox One, as well as comparison shots of Relic from the original Halo 2 and Halo 2 Anniversary.

A stability patch hit The Master Chief Collection earlier this month, fixing a majority of its matchmaking issues. According to 343, another content update is due out next month. In the meantime, the developer will continue to make changes on the server side to assure The Master Chief Collection continues to run smoothly.

Earlier this week, Microsoft announced a Master Chief Collection Xbox One bundle. The bundle comes in at $349 USD / £349, and includes an Xbox One, Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary, Halo 2: Anniversary, Halo 3, and Halo 4.

I only ever played Halo 3 on the 360 and enjoyed it immensely. It had a level of polish most games can only wish to aspire to. I got ODST as a download token with my replacement 360 after my second one RROD'd (first one had faulty disc drive) and played a couple of minutes of it. Sadly, it failed to rekindle the Halo fever in me.

Odst is was quite good imo, canon wise essentially it falls between halo 2 and 3, yes the neo noir graphics style can be a bit distracting but the storylines from various team mates perspectives was done quite impressively.

ODST was a lot of fun. was a awesome change from the normal Halo and the fact that you had to rely on health kits again instead of regenerating health was also a lot of fun

    Play games, not platforms
