Ok so 1st off the break in the sat3 cable was done by telkom when they were doing "maintenance"

Then everything went haywire telkom and MTN where the hardest hit IS is almost fully migrated to the seacom cable so they were that bad (my accounts worked fine)

What really cnt believe is this

    http://gaming.do.co.za/articles/loca..._goes_down.htm

I mean how the hell can they do that blame IS for something they didn't do and then promote their product which wasn't even working correctly at the time.

Was annoying as hell, hope they sorted it out now. I heard someone say something about maintenance today though, hope it's not tonight at prime time.

Well, there's an article on mybroadband about the maintenance:

An updated notice from MTN Business informed users that Telkom SA was conducting “major maintenance on the shunt fault on Segment 14 of SAT-3, about 627 km from the ACC Beach Manhole. This maintenance will run from the 20-22 January 2010 and resume again on the 29 January to 01 February 2010 within the maintenance window.” Users were informed that the maintenance will cause intermittent high latency to London UK and Paris for the duration of this maintenance.
