I also often join invites within a few seconds of them popping up, but then the game had already started by the time my loading screen catches up, and then for some reason I sit with another 2mins of loading screen just to get back to freemode. I'm really only in freemode when I do my dailies, the rest of the time I'm in loading screens / jobs.
Now that I have my kuruma I'll concentrate on joining friends' jobs.
P.S. Is there a setting where only job invites from Friends and NPCs can show up?
