Post Kerbal Space Program Now out of Beta

After almost 4 years in development, and 3 years in Steam Early Access, Kerbal Space Program finally launched version 1.0 of the game yesterday. With the release, there are a whole host of changes and additions that's been added to the already amazing game.

For those unfamiliar with KSP, here is a short description of Kerbal Space Program:

Kerbal Space Program is a rocket/plane building game where you send little green men(and now women!) to space. Your goal is to design, build, and launch your own spacecraft or airplanes. We've got rockets, fuel tanks, solar panels, powered wheels, heatshields, parachutes, command pods, and a lot more.

    There are three modes:
Career, where you collect Science to unlock parts and complete missions to collect funds that will help you build your spacecrafts and work to build your little startup space company into the space program of an entire world.
Science mode, which is just like career, but all you have to worry about is science, and no funds.
and Sandbox, where you have free reign to create all the spacey(or otherwise) creations your heart desires!
In this update we've recieved female Kerbals, a new aerodynamics mode, possible overheating of parts(deadly re-entry), fairings, resource scanning and drilling, and more!

This game has an incredibly active modding community, letting you add things like attachment ropes, autopilots, new parts, lasers, weapons, motorized parts, and even new planets and solar systems!

This is the first time ever that I have been this excited and hyped for a games release, even though I've put in many hundreds of hours already into the game. It's something that I really cannot understand or explain as to why I got so excited about it.

Maybe I'm just stupid or not creative enough. Though I have played this in beta form, I never understood the point. I've seen people make cool shit, yeah, but what's the point, what's the objective?! And maybe that's why I get bored with it. Much like Minecraft.

To get to the moon and back(or other planets). Also they have objectives and a tech tree now to unlock neato stuff. I see with 1.0 They also have resource mining. Sounds cool, reminds me of ME1 but obviously this will be more worth.
I've only ever played the demo version which is like much earlier Beta. I enjoyed it quite a bit but haven't bit the bullet to go full in yet.

Yes I totally get that Beo, and there was a long time that the game was basically just "built, explode, repeat". They've spent quite a lot of time on making the game feel more like a game. There is now a whole tech tree that needs to be unlocked in Career mode, and you can only do this by getting Science. Also, there are new Contracts that can be done in Career mode. It gives the game that sense of accomplishment and there is more direction for the game.

Most of the time, however, KSP is more about you getting the platform to create something awesome, and fly it to distant planets, or crash it spectacularly into the ground.
