Especially the ability to download games to an external HDD. Streaming/media playback is not "games" so I would not call an essential or neccesity. Bought the console to play games afterall not watch movies

Wel consider the PS3 could do this, I'd say it's almost a step back. With no DLNA support, no Logitech or Microsoft support on USB devices either, most people with steering wheels have been rendered invalid or having to buy new ones.Originally Posted by blaaislaai

This does work by the way, and with some games. It makes typing a lot easier.
Off-line trophy viewing would be nice as well.
I don't want to go to the capture gallery everytime to look at each and every pic to see what trophy I got.
I'm sure your trophies work offline, they'll just sync UP when online again, they down't sync DOWN.
No there's definitely some kind of setting that disallows this in some instances. I've not quite figured it out yet. In my profile I'm unable to view my trophies unless I'm online, but in my SO's profile he is able to, but then he doesn't have a PSN account so all online activity is handled through mine, so it must have something to do with that?
I'm sure most PS4 owners using Plex know this already but there's quite a simple workaround by using the web browser if you don't want to fork out the money for the app every month.
