ok this might be a bit of a stupid question but will the days/hours etc in theme hospital not be running like super fast? if we put it on a pc thats not a PI???

Nope. it runs perfectly. The only problem is you have to change your desktop top 16 bit colour otherwise the colours are a bit screwy. Best thing to do tho is playing it on xp if you still have it.
