Also... thinking of buying some other digital games this month, I see they're cheaper on the Xbox store than PC even.

Hi Beo, no sorry, I got as far as the login screen and then never got to it again. I registered on the website so I see no reason why it wouldn't work. Will log in tonight and let you know. If it does then I'll get you a couple of months worth of XBox Live Gold. Will at least get you some free games and the ability to play online. Do you need Gold for Elite at all? I don't know how that would work. I suppose you don't need it.

Elite: Dangerous works two fold. There is no offline play, you need a persistent internet connection in order to play. There is however Open and Solo play, the latter you don't need Gold for but you will not experience any other players within the world.

And it's really not necessary boet, I am not looking for any compensation whatsoever.

The Frontier store and Xbox don't link together like it does with the Elite launcher. As long as you've bought and paid for the game and own it on the Xbox you can play it.
