Great FREE FPS game BF2 Standalone

Remember BF2? The game that spawned the BF series (not including bf1942). The mod Project Reality was started about 10 years ago and last week released the game as a stand alone free game. It is the best FPS out there, maybe not for graphics but for gameplay, teamwork and realism that is not ARMA. There are quite a few servers and over 1000 people on most nights. its a 6GB download but SO worth it if you like FPS games.

Servers are overseas but a 200ms ping is acceptable for play I find. Lots of maps, many types on gameplay including Insurgents and Advance and secure. The graphics may be a bit dated, the game does crash on occasion but it still knocks the spots off other games. Games last 30 mins to about 2hrs.

yes.. but that is for international.. i think people want the local stats.. which I'm sure is a little nonexistent at the moment

Sure, but considering that it's a 10 year old game...

There are quite a few local players, we just play on int servers usually. The Romeo_Mike server only got going last week so hopefully people will start playing on it.

Has anybody on the forum downloaded the game ...and if not why not? Free, full servers, best FPS team game-play period and now a local server. You have nothing to loose (just 6GB...) Come, join the crowds. Check some gameplay on youtube. Even better, being an oldish game it runs on pretty crappy hardware. I have XP, core2duo, 3GB and a ATI 4800 or so.
